Daymakers

Day 3 of my automatic writing experiment

I’m a sucker for finding ways to set the day right, right from the start. I like to think of the times I get it right as ‘daymakers’ often triggered by something: a coffee, a conversation, a cuddle.

But more often than not it’s an amalgamation of several things that make the day. A heady concoction of bliss and calm makes for something divine but is often hard to pinpoint.

Whether it is Jocko Willink’s 4:30 am jump start or a long forest walk — all that matters is that you find your thing. And one thing that gets my mornings going is music. Sometimes, like this A.M. — I found myself dancing in the kitchen.

This means is going to be a really, really good day.

So ask yourself:

What do I need to start your day out right?

It’s not a one-time question it’s each morning kinda-question. Maybe it’s homemade granola or stop at your favorite breakfast joint. Perhaps it’s a 5-minute sing-a-long with your kids or a seriously deep house DJ set.

Whatever your poison, it’s your job to find a way to make the day.

I’m experimenting with automatic writing. Each morning I write freely and blindly and in the evening I edit and publish This is part two of the experiment.
